About The Film:
Hind was a 5-year-old Gazan who became trapped in car under fire in January of 2024. She made a call to Red Crescent volunteers pleading for rescue. Academy Award-nominated Writer-Director Kaouther Ben Hania uses Hind’s actual voice from the call to document the events that unfolded.
The resulting film enactment received the longest (23 min) standing ovation of all time at the Venice Film Festival debut, where it also won the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize. It is listed as 2025’s top 10 movies by both the 2025 Toronto Film Festival and NPR News. It has been nominated for a Golden Globe in the category Best Motion Picture, Non-English, as well as for Best Film at the Europe Film Awards.
